Do you have an in-person meeting you want to record? Do you want to practice for an upcoming presentation? Versational's mic record feature allows you to pick up any audio from your computer microphone and create recording results. The mic works in popular web browsers when you have Versational browser tab open. The Versational app is activated only when you play the record button. It does not record without your permission and activation for security and confidentiality.
To start, select 'Mic Recording' on the top of the left-hand side panel.
A yellow box will pop up below. Click the record button to start recording.
Even if you close the yellow box, your recording will continue. The red dot on the recording icon indicates that the recording is on.
Once you click start recording, you will receive a prompt from your browser to access your mic.
For Google Chrome users, it is helpful to view the Manage button and check your audio microphone device settings (headset, laptop, external mic, etc.). The Versational app will display options for you to access your mic as shown below for the recorder to work properly. If you need to reset, simply delete the Versational App in 'Allowed to use your microphone' and repeat the procedure for giving the Versational App permissions to use your mic.
Once you
accept that, you can start recording! You can do other things in the Versational App while the recorder is on. You can also open another browser tab or page on your computer, or simply continue working.
To stop, select 'Stop Recording' in the yellow box below. You can also select 'Reset' to start over. Remember that every recording has to be a minimum of 2 minutes.
Once you stop the recording and select 'Analyze', the recording will upload.
Please wait for the recording to fully upload at 100% AND for the success notification before exiting the App. When the success notification appears, it's safe to close the recording browser page.
Once the recording is analyzed, you will be notified with ' View Results' message in the yellow box below. Click on 'View Results' to see the results. You will also be notified by email when it's ready.
If you lose your internet connection or exit the page while recording, don't worry! Versational will save your recording up until the point the connection was lost and notify you on your 'Recording' page. When finished, you can easily go back to the recording and resume or analyze it.
